Amedspor president Nahit Eren has announced that Gift Orban needs to score three more goals for the Turkish club to make his loan deal from Hoffenheim permanent.
Orban joined Amedspor on loan from the Bundesliga team with a purchase clause attached. He has started well this season, scoring seven goals and making two assists in six Super Lig matches.
Eren spoke at a press conference on Tuesday. He revealed that Amedspor paid €500,000 to bring the Nigerian striker on loan. The purchase clause kicks in when he reaches 10 league goals.
“We loaned Gift Orban for €500,000, not €1m. If he scores 10 goals, the mandatory purchase option will be activated,” Eren said, according to GZT.
The president also explained that the fee for a permanent transfer is €3m, not €5m as some reports suggested. This amount will be paid in parts over the years.
“This figure is €3m, not €5m. We will pay this amount in instalments over the years,” he added.
Orban scored and assisted in Amedspor’s 3-2 win over Beşiktaş. This brings his league total to seven goals, putting him ahead of fellow Nigerian Victor Osimhen, who has six goals for Galatasaray.
His scoring has helped Amedspor have a strong start in the top league. The newly promoted team is currently at the top of the Super Lig on goal difference.
With three more goals needed to activate the purchase clause, Orban will aim to keep his scoring run going and hit the required number before the season ends.
