Hoffenheim striker Gift Orban is about to join Turkish club Amedspor on loan. This is according to Kicker, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.
Orban just got back to Hoffenheim after spending last season on loan at Hellas Verona in Italy.
The Nigerian striker started well in Serie A, scoring seven goals in the first half of the season. But his form dropped after the start of 2026. He only managed one more goal and ended the season as Verona’s top scorer.
Verona decided not to keep him due to a reported issue with the fans. Hoffenheim also does not have a spot for him in their plans for the new season.
Orban's time in Germany was similar. He joined Hoffenheim from Olympique Lyonnais for €9 million in January 2025. He had a strong start but ended the 2024/25 Bundesliga season with just four goals, not scoring after February 2025.
Hoffenheim got back some of their money through the €500,000 loan fee from Verona last season.
Kicker reports that Hoffenheim is set to receive another €1 million loan fee from Amedspor for the 2026/27 season.
The report says the deal includes an obligation to buy. This will happen if Orban plays a certain number of matches. If this clause kicks in, the 23-year-old will move permanently to the Turkish Süper Lig club for about €4 million.
