Amedspor has signed Super Eagles winger Yira Sor from Genk in Belgium. This move adds a second Nigerian international to their team ahead of their first Turkish Super Lig season.

The newly promoted club announced the transfer on Monday via their official social media. They welcomed the 26-year-old winger, putting an end to months of rumors about his future. Sor was expected to leave Genk this summer.

Sor joined Genk from Slavia Prague in January 2023. His time in Belgium was troubled by injuries, which kept him from playing regularly.

He made his Super Eagles debut in March. Now, he hopes for more playing time and a good performance after moving to Turkey.

His signing means he will play alongside fellow Nigerian forward Gift Orban. Orban recently joined Amedspor on a season-long loan from Hoffenheim in Germany. The deal can become permanent if certain conditions are met.

Orban’s move followed some uncertainty. He was left out of Hoffenheim’s plans after a loan season at Hellas Verona in Italy. There, he scored seven goals and made three assists in 29 Serie A games but could not stop the team from being relegated.

With Sor and Orban now part of Amedspor, the club has two Nigerian attackers. They are preparing for their first time in Turkey’s top league. This summer, more Nigerian players are joining the Turkish Super Lig, including Kelechi Iheanacho, who moved to Bursaspor.
