A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has said that the success of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, in Saturday’s election will happen in Osun on August 15.

In a statement shared with PUNCH Online on Sunday, Oyintiloye spoke with journalists in Osogbo. He said Oyebanji’s victory was “well deserved.”

He added that the election results show strong support for the governor’s work and the people's choice. He called it a historic win achieved by a significant margin.

Oyintiloye, who used to be a lawmaker, said the ruling party in Osun should get ready for a loss. He insisted that the APC would win by a large margin.

“The success of the APC in Ekiti will happen in Osun. The party is well accepted by the people, and this is a clear sign to the ruling party to prepare for defeat. Our candidate is ready, the party is ready, and the voters are ready to achieve the same success in Osun,” he said.

He mentioned that the results show the people's trust in good governance. He noted that Oyebanji’s government has focused on development, inclusivity, and the welfare of citizens.

“The results from Ekiti show that when a party is united, focused, and committed to grassroots involvement, winning becomes easy. This is an important lesson for us in Osun that teamwork, dedication, and shared responsibility are key for winning elections.

“The people of Ekiti have shown their faith in good governance. By God’s grace, the people of Osun will do the same on August 15, 2026, by electing Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the next governor of the state,” he added.

Oyintiloye said the party has spent four years out of power and is confident it will return to office on August 15.

“We are ready. We have waited long enough, and by August 15, the success we saw in Ekiti will be repeated in Osun, and the state will go back to good leadership.

“Both the opposition and the ruling party should realize that the APC is set to come back to power,” he concluded.

He called on voters to keep supporting the APC and its candidate, promising that their welfare would be a priority.
