A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, says the recent departure of some party members will not weaken the party's strength or affect its chances in the upcoming governorship election on August 15.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye said this kind of situation is normal in politics, especially during election times.

He insisted that these defections do not threaten the APC's commitment to reclaiming power in Osun State.

Oyintiloye, in a statement shared with PUNCH Online, claimed that the APC remains the strongest political party in Osun, with a strong grassroots presence in all wards, polling units, communities, and local government areas.

"The APC in Osun is bigger than any individual or group.

"Our party is built on a strong foundation that has lasted for decades. We have a solid structure, loyal members, and a growing support base across the state.

"Those who think the APC has been weakened by the exit of a few members are completely out of touch with reality.

"The strength of our party lies with the people, and the people are still firmly with the APC," he said.

The former lawmaker mentioned that Bola Oyebamiji's selection as the party's governorship candidate has raised the spirits of members and increased excitement among voters.

He stated that Oyebamiji's acceptability, competence, humility, accessibility, and public service experience have made him a favorite among many voters.

"There is no community in Osun State today where the AMBO movement is not gaining popularity.

"The support he has spans across political parties, religious beliefs, age groups, and professions. His popularity is genuine and keeps growing daily.

"The truth is that no other candidate in this race has the same level of goodwill, credibility, and political momentum that AMBO has across the state.

"The people relate to his vision, and they are ready to trust him with the responsibility of leading Osun to greater heights," he said.

Oyintiloye added that the party remains focused and is not distracted by recent political changes. He said ongoing discussions, stakeholder meetings, reconciliation efforts, and grassroots mobilization have strengthened the party's unity.

He encouraged party leaders, elected officials, stakeholders, and members to stay united and work harder at the grassroots level. He believes victory will come through collective effort and dedication.

"This is not the time for distractions or negativity. It is time for more unity, better engagement with the people, and stronger mobilization in our communities.

"Our structures are intact, our supporters are energized, and our candidate enjoys strong acceptance.

"We are confident, we are ready, and we are set for victory.

"The APC is the party to beat in Osun State, and with God's help and the support of the good people of Osun, we will win on August 15, 2026," he said.

Oyintiloye also urged party members to stay loyal and committed, assuring them that the APC is on track to regain the state's leadership and bring in a new era of responsible governance.

He called on the party's leaders in the state to keep working towards unity for the overall good of the APC.

Oyintiloye further urged the party leadership to look into the complaints of some members and work to prevent further departures, emphasizing that every member is important and has a role in the party's success at the polls.
