The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West has brought together over 1,000 youth leaders, political players, and party members for a leadership summit.
A statement from the APC South-West Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, announced this on Tuesday. The summit is set to hold in Lagos on Thursday.
The theme for the event is “Strengthening Youth Leadership for Progressive Governance and National Development.” Participants from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states are expected to attend.
The statement mentioned, “The engagement is designed to provide a platform for capacity building, youth advocacy, political participation and discussions on the role of young Nigerians in leadership and national development.”
Governors, senior political leaders, party members, government officials, youth leaders, and other stakeholders from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states are also expected at the event.
This programme will allow emerging leaders to meet with established political figures. They will discuss ways to boost youth participation in governance and prepare young people for leadership roles.
One of the main highlights of the event will be the presentation of the Outstanding Youth Empowerment & Mobilisation Award to the City Boy Movement. This award recognizes their efforts in youth mobilisation, grassroots engagement, and encouraging youth participation.
