Super Eagles player Joe Aribo is on a list of Nigerian players looking for new clubs before the 2026/27 season. He is joined by winger Henry Onyekuru and forward Peter Olayinka. Many other well-known players are also without clubs after their contracts ended, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Aribo, who is 30 years old, became a free agent when his contract with Southampton ended. He returned to Southampton after a loan at Leicester City. No new deal was agreed, leaving him free to find a new team.

The midfielder is known for his skills and experience. He has played for Rangers and Charlton Athletic. His past in both the Premier League and Scottish football makes him an appealing choice for clubs.

Onyekuru is also looking for a new team. His contract with Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi was ended by mutual agreement. The 29-year-old will receive about €940,000 as part of his settlement.

This season was tough for Onyekuru. He did not score or assist in 19 games after joining Genclerbirligi on a free transfer from Saudi club Al-Fayha in the summer of 2025. He has previously won the Turkish Super Lig title with Galatasaray and played for Everton, Anderlecht, and Monaco.

Olayinka, who is also 30, is searching for a club after leaving APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus. He has played for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, Zulte Waregem in Belgium, and Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic. He has received interest from clubs in Turkey, Belgium, and Slovakia.
