Atletico Madrid and Brentford are among many European clubs trying to sign Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche this summer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Uche had a tough time on loan at Crystal Palace from Getafe last season. He didn't get much playing time under coach Oliver Glasner. Now, he is expected to return to Getafe. Yet, there is a lot of talk about his future, especially after the Getafe president said the club is open to selling him for the right price.
Afrik-Foot reports that Atletico Madrid has been interested in Uche since last year. Los Colchoneros need more options in attacking midfield. They see the 23-year-old as a good and affordable choice that fits coach Diego Simeone's style of hard-working players.
Brentford also looks like a good match for Uche. The Bees need extra squad depth as they get ready for both domestic and European competitions next season. Uche is known for his hard work and strong defensive skills. He can play in different midfield positions. But it is unclear if his tough time at Crystal Palace will make him hesitate about moving to England again.
Real Betis is also very interested in Uche. They want to refresh their midfield, which has older players like Isco, Giovani Lo Celso, and Pablo Fornals. The Nigerian could bring youth and energy to the team and thrive under manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are another club looking at Uche. They nearly signed him from Getafe last summer, but the deal fell through at the last minute. Now, they are said to be looking at him again after getting relegated to the Championship. However, the current instability at the club might not attract the midfielder.
