Kaduna State Shines as One of Nigeria's Best in New Performance Ranking

The Kaduna State Government is happy with the results of the 2025 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index (pSPI). The index placed Kaduna State in 3rd position in Nigeria and gave it an Excellent Four-Star Rating. This ranking puts Kaduna among the top-performing states in the country.

Ahmed Maiyaki, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, said the ranking shows the state's commitment to reform and focus on the people. He believes it validates the policies being carried out by Governor Uba Sani’s administration.

The Commissioner explained that this ranking shows real progress in areas like governance, money management, economic growth, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and social inclusion.

"This recognition is important because it comes from an independent and credible assessment that uses clear performance indicators and citizen feedback. It shows that Kaduna State is making steady progress in strengthening institutions, improving governance, and creating opportunities for its citizens," Mr Maiyaki said.

In addition to this ranking, the Commissioner noted that Kaduna State has received other recognitions. Earlier this year, the state ranked Number One in Nigeria on the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index (TII) published by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI). Kaduna also achieved the highest score in the country for the Control of Corruption Indicator.

He also mentioned that these recognitions reflect the effect of ongoing reforms and investments in key sectors.

"These rankings are encouraging because they show that our work is bringing measurable results. But we remain focused on improving the lives of our people through inclusive development, economic empowerment, quality service delivery, and sustainable peace," the statement said.

Mr Maiyaki reiterated the commitment of Governor Uba Sani’s administration to build a peaceful, prosperous, transparent, and globally competitive Kaduna State. He emphasized the continuation of reforms to bring more benefits to the citizens.

The Kaduna State Government thanked the citizens, development partners, traditional and religious leaders, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders for their support, which helps drive the state’s growth and progress.
