The Kaduna State Government is happy with the results of the 2025 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index (pSPI). Kaduna State was ranked 3rd in Nigeria and got an Excellent Four-Star Rating. This puts it among the best-performing states in the country.
In a statement from the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, the state government said the ranking shows the success of the reform-focused and people-oriented policies from Governor Uba Sani's administration.
The Commissioner pointed out that the ranking shows real progress in areas like governance, financial management, economic growth, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and social inclusion.
“This recognition is significant because it comes from an independent and credible assessment that combines objective performance indicators with citizen feedback. It confirms that Kaduna State is making steady progress in strengthening institutions, improving governance outcomes, and expanding opportunities for its citizens,” Mr Maiyaki said.
He also noted that this ranking adds to the list of independent awards Kaduna State has received. Earlier this year, the state topped Nigeria on the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index (TII) from the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI). It also scored the highest in the country on the Control of Corruption Indicator.
Mr Maiyaki said these recognitions show the positive impact of ongoing reforms and investments in key sectors.
“These rankings are encouraging because they demonstrate that our efforts are yielding measurable results. But our focus remains on improving the lives of our people through inclusive development, economic empowerment, quality service delivery, and sustainable peace,” the statement said.
Mr Maiyaki restated Governor Uba Sani's commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, transparent, and competitive Kaduna State. He emphasized the need to keep up with reforms that will benefit the citizens more.
The Kaduna State Government thanked citizens, development partners, traditional and religious institutions, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders for their support in contributing to the state's progress and development.
