Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi Ugboma has shared his thoughts on divorce. He believes that in some cases, it is better for couples to part ways than to stay in a relationship where both partners are unhappy.
In a recent episode of The Morayo Show, Bovi discussed his views on marriage and divorce. He mentioned that he sees divorce as a way for couples who are struggling to find relief.
"I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage. I will not suffer anybody, nor will I want anybody to suffer me," he said.
Bovi made it clear that he does not take divorce lightly. He understands that marriage can come with its own set of challenges.
He reflected on his own life, sharing that his 17-year marriage has faced its share of ups and downs.
"That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years nonstop," he stated.
Bovi also talked about the traditional idea that men should be the main providers for their families. He encouraged women to follow their dreams and work towards being financially independent.
He believes that when women contribute to the family’s finances, their efforts should be recognized and valued.
"If a woman’s passion drives her to provide, her contributions should be recognised and respected," he added.
