Chimsom Chuka is the First Head of House in BBNaija Season 11

Anambra-born pharmacist and actor, Chimsom Chuka, has become the first Head of House in the 11th season of Big Brother Naija. He earned immunity from eviction for the week after winning the show’s opening challenge.

Big Brother announced Chimsom as the winner after he recorded the fastest overall time in the first Head of House task on Monday, the first full day of the competition.

The challenge had the male housemates competing against each other. The female contestants also fought for their spots separately. The best performers were then compared to find the winner.

Abi, a chef and model from Osun State, finished second overall. She was named the Deputy Head of House.

This season is different from past editions. The winner does not automatically stay in the luxurious Head of House loft. Instead, Big Brother added a twist. Chimsom had to pick a housemate through a lucky dip to share the privilege.

Chimsom selected from a yellow lucky dip box and picked Tram. Tram was immediately allowed into the Head of House loft for the week. Tram then chose Sheba to share the apartment with him.

Even though Chimsom won't stay in the Head of House residence, he still has the big advantage of immunity from eviction this week. He also enjoys other leadership privileges and a special treat from Big Brother.

This change is one of the biggest twists introduced in the new season. It separates immunity from the right to stay in the exclusive Head of House quarters.

Before entering the house, the 27-year-old described himself as someone who stays calm under pressure. He said he plans to be authentic throughout the competition.

“The biggest strength I have is being myself,” he said in his pre-show introduction. He hopes viewers will connect with his genuine personality rather than a fake game plan.

As of now, the housemates are still taking part in the nomination process for possible eviction later this week. The 24 contestants are vying for the show’s grand prize of ₦160 million in the “Show Ya Sef” edition of the reality television programme.
