Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze might leave AC Milan this summer. The Serie A club sees the Nigerian as one of their top players they can sell before the new season, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Chukwueze has returned to Milan after his loan at Fulham ended, but there is still uncertainty about his future at the San Siro.

Fulham chose not to activate the €26 million buy option in the loan deal, even after Chukwueze performed well in the Premier League. He scored three goals and got four assists in 23 league matches, building a good partnership with fellow Nigerians Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

Reports from Italy say that Milan is still talking with Fulham about a new deal, but no agreement has been made yet between the two clubs.

Chukwueze will rejoin the Rossoneri for pre-season training, but questions about his future have grown due to changes in the club’s management.

Italian football journalist Luca Cerchione mentioned that Milan is open to offers for the former Villarreal player if a good offer comes in.

"The club views Chukwueze as a sellable asset, though they are prepared to let him leave only if a suitable offer arrives," Cerchione wrote on X.

"His situation differs from that of Rafael Leão, Youssouf Fofana, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are reportedly considered surplus to requirements."

This news suggests that Chukwueze could stay at Milan. However, if he does, he might face more competition for playing time.

He joined Milan in the summer of 2023 on a five-year contract worth €20 million. With two years left on his deal, Milan will likely think carefully about what to do with the 26-year-old as they try to balance team planning and keeping his market value high.

Chukwueze moved to Milan from Villarreal in 2023 but has had trouble securing a starting spot, despite showing his talent. A transfer might give the Super Eagles winger a new chance to boost his career, especially with Nigeria's international matches coming up.
