Wolverhampton Wanderers have let go of 10 players after dropping to the Championship. But it looks like Tolu Arokodare will stay at the club, despite rumors about him leaving, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
Arokodare came to the club last summer for £24m on a four-year deal. But after a tough first season, it seemed he might be leaving this summer.
Things got tense at the end of the last season when Arokodare had a clash with teammate Mateus Mane. This raised questions about his future at Wolves.
During his first season at Wolves, the former Racing Genk player scored six goals and made two assists in 38 matches across all competitions.
Wolves have asked captain Nelson Semedo to stay at Molineux since his contract ends this summer. But they chose not to activate the option in Carlos Forbs’ loan deal, meaning he will go back to Ajax. Wolves announced this on Saturday.
Meanwhile, forward Sarabia and defender Dawson will also leave the club after spending two and a half seasons there. Both players joined Wolves in January 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham United respectively.
Even though Arokodare still has a contract, it is unclear whether the club will decide to sell him soon.
TalkSPORT reports that Arokodare is likely to leave the club this summer, with a loan move being the most probable option.
The Athletic mentions that the club might look for a loan fee first before trying to sell him permanently later.
