Coventry City finally got their first Premier League win in 25 years on Saturday. They beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City Ground.

This win is huge for Coventry. It is their first victory in the Premier League since April 2001. Back then, they defeated Bradford City 2-1. After that, they struggled and were relegated at the end of the 2000/01 season. They had played for 34 seasons in the top flight before that.

Jay Dasilva scored the winning goal for Coventry. This victory gives Frank Lampard’s team their first points and first goal of the Premier League season. They had lost their first four matches without scoring, which had put them at the bottom of the table before this match.

Coventry put in a strong performance to keep Forest from scoring. In the second half, Dasilva found the net after goalkeeper Carl Rushworth sent a long ball forward. This gave Coventry the lead, which they fought hard to keep.

Nottingham Forest thought they had equalized late in the match. Igor Jesus scored, but VAR ruled the goal out because of a foul on Coventry defender Caleb Yirenkyi.

This decision helped Coventry hold on to their lead. Bobby Thomas also played a big role. He cleared a shot off the line after Morgan Gibbs-White tried to score over Rushworth as Forest pressed for a goal.

Coventry goalkeeper Rushworth made some big saves as Forest tried to get back into the game. This win is a huge boost for Coventry after their tough start to the season.

For Forest, this marks their second league loss this season. They have only one win from their first five matches.

Frank Lampard’s Coventry team now has their first Premier League win of the season. The 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest came with the help of VAR denying Forest a late equalizer.

This result gives Coventry their first points of the season just before the international break. Forest, on the other hand, will regret missed chances and the late VAR decision that took away their goal.
