Nigerian artist Oladapo Oyebanji, better known as D’banj, has teamed up with Cinq Music Group. This partnership aims to give Nigerian music fans access to selected international songs through USSD.

The service will let fans buy full-track downloads and caller ring-back tones at prices affordable for Nigerians.

The first song available is Live Your Life by American rapper T.I., featuring Rihanna.

C.R.E.A.M., D’banj’s entertainment platform, shared this news with PUNCH Online on Friday. They said the goal is to make globally recognized music easy to access through local payment methods.

The platform noted that this will bring international music into its network for talent discovery, content distribution, monetization, fan engagement, rewards, and gaming.

They called this partnership a significant step in making international music available on a Nigerian platform. Fans will be able to pay using methods designed for their local market.

"The partnership will enable Nigerian fans to purchase selected international recordings through USSD, with options like full-track downloads and caller ring-back tones at prices suited for the Nigerian market," the platform stated.

They also mentioned that this model will give rights holders a better understanding of local demand. When fans make purchases, transaction receipts will show the commercial performance.

D’banj shared his thoughts on the partnership. He said it would create more value for music rights holders in Nigeria.

"When the receipt is generated here, the asset gets value here. A stream is a data point. A sale is a receipt. C.R.E.A.M. is owned here, priced here and pays here," he explained.

He added that the platform is dedicated to building a stronger connection between musicians and their fans.

"Our mission is to create direct access between artists and fans, with super fan engagement like never before," D’banj said.

The company also noted that this initiative is part of its direct-to-fan model. This model connects artists with their audiences through music discovery, distribution, monetization, fan participation, and rewards.

They explained that the partnership with Cinq Music will widen the selection of international songs available to Nigerian fans while keeping the focus on direct engagement.

C.R.E.A.M. also revealed plans to use this launch in Nigeria as a stepping stone to reach other African markets, depending on rights agreements, commercial terms, and local infrastructure.

They promised to announce more details about available recordings and other areas once everything is set.
