Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, has picked August 11 for a special live premiere of his new album, ‘Oriade’, in London.
Davido, also called ‘OBO’ by fans, shared the news on his X account, @davido, on Friday.
He wrote: “London! Join me on Aug. 11 at the O2 Forum Kentish Town for a very special show.
“This will be the first and only chance to hear Oriade performed live, so if you want to experience the new album before anyone else. Tickets are on sale now I’ll see you there!”
Earlier, Davido told his many fans that Oriade, his sixth studio album, will drop on July 31.
The word Oriadé comes from the Yoruba words “ori” (destiny) and “adé” (crown), which means “the crowned head.”
He said the album, featuring the lead single “I Know Who I Be,” marks his 15 years in the music industry.
“Over fifteen years ago, I decided to trust something I couldn’t fully explain. I just knew music was my destiny,” he told Billboard.
“The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet,” he added.
The lead single “I Know Who I Be,” produced by South African artists Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, is already available and gives fans a hint of the album's direction.
The 13-track Oriade is a return to his original, energetic African sound instead of focusing mainly on pop cross-overs.
It follows his 2025 Billboard chart hit album “5ive.”
