American rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs has been taken to the hospital after getting a head injury while serving his prison time in New Jersey, USA.
The 56-year-old was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, October 10. He received treatment for what was called a non-life-threatening injury, according to the Los Angeles Times, which reported the news on Monday.
The report, which cited TMZ, said Combs was awake and talking before going to the hospital.
Details about how he got the injury have not been shared publicly, PUNCH Online reported on Tuesday.
A representative for Combs told the Los Angeles Times, "We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances.
"Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out."
A spokesperson for the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix, where Combs is serving his time, did not comment on his reported hospital visit, the newspaper said.
This news comes just days after reports about Combs’ prison privileges sparked more media attention. There were claims that he received special meals and massages and had access to banned devices.
In a report from October 2, the Los Angeles Times said NBC News had talked to four anonymous inmates who claimed that Combs paid other prisoners to cook and clean for him. They also said he had a contraband mobile phone and an illegal supply of alcohol.
Combs’ representative denied the stories about his prison life. They told NBC News, "The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news."
The representative added, "The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal."
These reports about his prison conditions came just before a change to his release date.
According to the Los Angeles Times, his release date was pushed back from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028, based on the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ inmate database.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after a jury found him guilty in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
He was found not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
The verdict followed a high-profile trial in New York that included testimony about sexual encounters involving Combs, his former girlfriend Casandra Ventura, known as Cassie, and male sex workers.
Combs’ legal team has filed an appeal against his conviction and sentence. The appeal is still pending based on the latest reports.
This hospital visit adds to the list of legal and prison issues for the founder of Bad Boy Records, who was once a leading figure in American hip-hop.
