Nigerian interior designer and entrepreneur Ehi Ogbebor has denied claims that she has a history of dating married men. She says that transport union leader Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, is the only married man she knowingly dated.

Ms Ogbebor spoke on the Chude Podcast, which was posted on YouTube on Tuesday. She talked about her two failed marriages, her experience with domestic violence, and the public scrutiny that has followed her relationships.

The CEO of Sayaveth Interiors and Hotel challenged any woman who thinks she took her husband to come forward. She insists that the idea that she dates or “snatches” married men is not true.

“MC Oluomo is one of my best friends. Ayinde, as I call him, that I know now. That’s the only man I would sit down and say, yes, I did date him as a married man, but he’s Muslim. Even bus conductors have four wives as Muslims,” she said.

“I’ve had two failed marriages, with beauty, with money; I still had two failed marriages. People have a complex when it’s Ehi. Contrary to what people think, I do not snatch people’s husbands.

“As I said, I’m waiting for the wives to come and tell me how I snatched their husbands.”

Ms Ogbebor’s personal life has drawn a lot of public attention over the years. This is especially true after her marriages ended and her relationship with Mr Akinsanya became known.

Her relationship with MC Oluomo became a hot topic on social media because he is married. In this latest interview, Ms Ogbebor did not deny knowing he was married while they dated. She described him as one of her best friends and said he is the only married man she acknowledges having been in a relationship with.

The businesswoman has been married twice, including to businessman and oil mogul Kenneth Bramor. Their grand wedding in 2017 attracted a lot of attention, but the marriage did not last.

Ms Ogbebor mentioned that her failed marriages, despite her success and looks, have shaped how she views relationships and how others see her private life.

Apart from the talks about her dating life, Ms Ogbebor reflected on her first marriage, which started when she was just 18.

She said she entered that marriage without really knowing her partner. She claimed she faced serious physical abuse during that time.

“I married at the age of 18. I married someone I didn’t know. I actually think the marriage was nonsense. I was a victim of terrible domestic physical abuse,” she said.

Recalling one incident, Ms Ogbebor said her then-husband beat her until she lost consciousness.

“There was a day he beat me so bad. I passed out. I woke up to him pouring olive oil into my mouth,” she said.

She also talked about another incident during her pregnancy. She said her husband pushed her, causing her to fall on her stomach.

“He pushed me, and I fell on my tummy,” she said.

Ms Ogbebor also claimed that her husband controlled their finances strictly. She said he would give her a list of household expenses.

“He would give me a list and write it like N2,000 for tomatoes, N1,000 for Maggi,” she recalled.

She mentioned that she eventually left the marriage due to what she described as “juju” or voodoo. However, she did not go into more details about this.

Ms Ogbebor said her past experiences have changed how she reacts to criticism about her relationships and lifestyle.

She said she cares more about making money, finding happiness, and living life on her own terms than about public opinions.

“Whatever they are doing now, I am not moved. Every other thing is background sound. I make enough money. Anything that will make me happy, I go for it,” she said.

Her recent statements add to the ongoing public discussion about her marriages and relationships. Ms Ogbebor maintains that the common view of her as someone who often goes after married men does not match her dating history.
