Ethiopian Airlines Group, the largest airline in Africa, has announced a new passenger service to Port Louis, Mauritius. This flight will run three times a week starting from July 12, 2026.
In a statement, Ethiopian Airlines emphasized that this new route shows their commitment to bringing African countries closer together. They also aim to boost economic growth in Southeast Africa and beyond.
The new flight will improve travel options, support tourism, and increase trade. It will also help people connect better, creating a vital link between local markets and global networks.
The service will fly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, according to the airline.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew spoke about the new service. He said, “We are delighted to launch this direct flight service to Mauritius, making it easier for Africans and other international tourists to visit this beautiful African island destination, while also enhancing business and trade opportunities. As a leading carrier on the continent, expanding our African network remains one of our top priorities, in line with our vision of strengthening connectivity among African nations and linking the continent more closely with the rest of the world.”
Before this direct flight, Ethiopian Airlines connected to Mauritius through partnerships in places like Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Antananarivo.
Now, with this new route, passengers will enjoy quicker travel times and better connection options in the region. They can book their flights using the Ethiopian Airlines booking channels they prefer.
