The Kwara State Police have arrested four men over two different cases. These cases involve the alleged digging up of human heads from graves and having suspected human hands meant for rituals.

Police Commissioner Ojo Adekimi shared the news on Tuesday. He spoke to journalists at the command headquarters in Ilorin. He explained what they found during the investigations.

In the first case, two men named Abu Jimoh and Ayo Jimoh were arrested. They are accused of digging up graves and taking heads from bodies buried in a cemetery in Omupo, Kwara State.

The police said this came to light in May 2026. Community members went to the cemetery to bury someone and noticed that some graves had been disturbed. They found that the heads of the bodies there were missing.

The Commissioner stated, "After a careful and intelligence-driven investigation, our operatives arrested Abu Jimoh and Ayo Jimoh around 5:00 a.m. on October 8, 2026. They were allegedly digging graves in the cemetery."

When questioned, the two suspects reportedly admitted to the crime. They also named a herbalist, Mukaila Bello, as the person who bought the heads from them.

The police have listed Abu Jimoh, Ayo Jimoh, and Bello as suspects in the case. It is not clear if Bello has also been arrested.

The police said, "Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will face court once we finish our investigation."

In another case, police arrested two more men, Kamalden Lukmon and AbdulGaniyu Ibrahim. This happened after they found two suspected human hands during an operation on Bakase Road in Alapa, Kwara State.

The arrests took place around 4 p.m. on October 8, 2026. The discovery of the hands led police to look deeper into where they came from and why the suspects had them.

The police mentioned that preliminary questioning showed the two men planned to use the hands for money-making rituals.

The police said, "During preliminary questioning, the suspects said they planned to use the body parts for rituals to make money."

The suspects claimed that a vigilante member named Abdulraf Apata gave them the hands.

The police added, "We are investigating the claims against Apata to find out the truth and see if others are involved."

The command revealed that Lukmon and Ibrahim are currently held at the Violent Crimes Response Unit while investigations continue. They are also working to identify the victim and understand how the death relates to their investigation.
