Kano NSCDC Nabs Two Suspected Vandals

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano State has arrested two suspected vandals in different operations. These actions took place in Kumbotso and Nassarawa Local Government Areas.

State Commandant Mohammed Agalama confirmed the arrests while talking to journalists at the command office in Kano on Monday.

He said, “Our operatives arrested two suspected vandals in separate intelligence-led operations carried out at Panshekara in Kumbotso Local Government Area and Yankaba in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.”

Agalama mentioned that the success of these operations came from the command’s ongoing efforts to protect important national assets and infrastructure across all 44 local government areas in the state.

He named the suspects as Gath Gamaliel, 22, from Zango in Kaduna State, and Salisu Jibrin, 31, who lives in Kurna, Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.

“Gath Gamaliel was found with 17 stolen railway clips at Panshekara. Salisu Jibrin, who is suspected of receiving stolen goods, was caught at Yankaba. He showed up to collect about 60 kilograms of suspected stolen copper wire,” he said.

According to the commandant, the items recovered were thought to have been taken illegally from public infrastructure.

Agalama noted that these arrests show the command’s dedication to fighting vandalism and other economic crimes that threaten the country’s growth.

He added that investigations are ongoing to find other members of the criminal groups. After that, the suspects will face charges in court.
