Hundreds of people in Aiyedogbon Community, Iyesi area of Ogun State, received free medical care on Saturday. This outreach was organized by the Beulah World Initiative.
The event, called “Operation Rescue,” gave residents free medical check-ups, diagnostic tests, treatment for common illnesses, deworming for children, health education, food items, and clothing.
Chichi Ononiwu, the Founder and Coordinator of the Beulah World Initiative, spoke during the event. She said the goal of the initiative was to improve healthcare access for communities in need across Nigeria.
She said the organization’s medical outreach programs aim to help vulnerable people by providing free healthcare services. Ononiwu also mentioned that they have monthly outreach programs focused on specialized medical care, nutritional support, and vocational training.
She noted, “BWI outreaches are completely free medical programs dedicated to supporting health and well-being in Sub-Saharan Africa, starting with Nigerian communities.
“The BWI Team has kept a disciplined monthly outreach program that provides specialized medical care, nutritional support, and vocational inspiration. We have provided cancer screenings, pediatric care, and laboratory services to over 50,000 beneficiaries so far.”
Ononiwu added that many of the cancer screening programs were done with Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence at Covenant University. This partnership aims to improve community healthcare through data-driven methods.
Aside from healthcare services, the organization also gave out food items and clothing to widows, the elderly, and other vulnerable members of the community. This was part of their efforts to help those facing economic hardships.
Beneficiaries praised the initiative, calling it timely and helpful. Mrs Favour Idahosa, one of the beneficiaries, said she had never received free medical care before.
She expressed her joy, saying, “I’m so glad to witness such a thing today in my entire life. This is my first time experiencing this kind of thing, free medical services. In short, I don’t know what to say! May God increase the initiative more and more in Jesus’ name.”
Mrs Joseph Bolarinwa also shared her thoughts on the outreach. She said it helped residents understand their health better.
“Actually, this is my first time. This is really good. What I see is a great program that helps people be aware of what is happening in their bodies. It’s not easy to give people free tests, free drugs, and free foodstuffs. This is my first time getting this kind of benefit. I pray that God will continue to strengthen this initiative,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Mrs Adebisi Alopaye, thanked the organizers for their efforts. She said, “I’m so impressed and surprised. I feel excited to be a participant in today’s program. There are many things about my health that I neglected, which I was reminded of today. I pray that God will reward and replenish the Beulah World team.”
Mrs Glory Erima described the outreach as a life-changing experience. She said, “I am grateful for all the benefits I got here today, blood tests, medicine, and even foodstuffs. I pray that God will continue to bless the organization.”
The organizers mentioned that they will keep partnering with others to improve access to quality healthcare for underserved communities across Nigeria.
