Fury’s uncle thinks Joshua could knock him out

Peter Fury, Tyson Fury’s uncle and former trainer, has warned that Anthony Joshua might knock out his nephew when they finally fight, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

On the Fight Your Corner podcast, in partnership with Midnite, Fury said he sees only two possible outcomes. Either his nephew will outbox Joshua, or Joshua will give him his first knockout loss.

“I have not really thought about it, to be honest. He (Fury) is either going to outbox (him) and he will get to Joshua or Joshua is going to find the target and he will clean him out. So, it is one or the other, is it not? So, we will see which one,” he explained.

“I think it all comes down to what game plans they are going to do.”

An announcement about the long-awaited fight was expected after both fighters won their warm-up matches in July. Fury fought Mariusz Wach, while Joshua faced Kristian Prenga. However, talks got stuck.

Organisers wanted to have the all-British fight in New York City, but Joshua had already signed a contract for a fight in the UK.

After long negotiations, new reports say the fight is back on and is likely to happen in Cardiff, Wales, this December.

It is not clear yet if the main event will take place in the early morning to cater to Netflix’s US audience.

Fans are still waiting for official confirmation, but a deal is said to be nearly done for one of the biggest events on the boxing calendar in 2026.
