Eleven people were killed on Monday in Zaranga village, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

A villager, who spoke to PUNCH Online but asked not to be named, said Boko Haram attacked the village early in the morning. They shot at people and set houses on fire.

"For now, 11 dead bodies have been recovered. Many people are still missing. Search teams and security personnel are in the forest searching for the missing people," he said.

Another villager shared that his wife and two other family members were among those found dead.

"My wife and two of my family members were also killed during the early morning invasion of my village," he said.

PUNCH Online tried to reach the Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, for confirmation. Calls made several times went unanswered.

As of the time of this report, he had not responded to any calls to his phone.
