Haiti and Türkiye Out of 2026 FIFA World Cup

Haiti and Türkiye are out of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after losing their matches on Friday.

In Philadelphia, United States, five-time champions Brazil beat Haiti 3-0 in Group C. This loss ended Haiti's chances of moving forward in the tournament.

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring for Brazil with a close-range goal after Vinicius Jr’s shot was saved. Cunha then scored again with a strong shot from inside the box.

Vinicius Jr added a third goal just before the end of the first half.

The defeat leaves Haiti at the bottom of Group C with zero points from two matches and a goal difference of -4. Their last group game against Morocco on June 24 is now pointless.

Brazil, on the other hand, has moved to the top of the group on goal difference ahead of Morocco.

In Group D, Türkiye lost 1-0 to Paraguay at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium, also getting knocked out of the tournament.

Matias Galarza scored the quickest goal of the 2026 World Cup just 64 seconds into the game, giving Paraguay a crucial win.

Despite putting pressure on Paraguay and benefiting from a red card given to a Paraguayan player in stoppage time, Türkiye could not score.

This loss means Türkiye has lost both of their games and has no points, confirming their exit with one match still left to play.

Paraguay kept their slim hopes of qualifying alive with this win as they prepare for their last match against Australia.

Both teams made history in their own ways. Haiti returned to the World Cup for the first time since 1974, while Türkiye's journey ended early despite high hopes.
