Former Ajax and Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has talked about Tolu Arokodare’s strong start to the season. He called the Nigerian forward a dangerous threat for opposing teams, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
Arokodare has made a big comeback since he joined his new Eredivisie club on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer. He has scored six goals and provided two assists in just nine games across all competitions.
The Nigeria international has quickly moved on from his tough time in England. He has regained the confidence and consistency that make him a key player for his new club.
Huntelaar spoke about Arokodare on Voetbal International’s Pak Schaal Podcast. He pointed out Arokodare’s ability to change games with his strength and goal-scoring skills.
“I think Tolu is doing well. He has scored his goals and is dangerous as a focal point when he is on the pitch,” the former Netherlands star said.
Arokodare’s good form at club level also got him back into the Super Eagles for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September 2027. He played against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
The 25-year-old was part of both matches but could not score. Nigeria won their first qualifying match 2-1 against Madagascar but lost 3-0 to Guinea-Bissau.
His strong performance at his club comes after a rough time at Wolves, where he found it hard to get playing time after joining the Premier League team.
This loan move has given Arokodare regular playing time and a chance to build his confidence. His eight goal contributions in nine games have made him a reliable scorer for his club.
Huntelaar’s comments show more recognition for Arokodare’s comeback as the striker aims to keep up his form and secure his place among Nigeria’s top attackers.
