Victor Osimhen is being considered as a top signing for Juventus. The Italian club is looking for a high-quality striker. Former Italy player Marco Borriello praised Osimhen's strength and his experience in Serie A, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
“I want a great number nine. Osimhen? Maybe. He’s strong, he knows Serie A and Spalletti. But beyond Osimhen, we need a top-level striker,” Borriello, who won the UEFA Champions League in 2007, said in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Osimhen played for Napoli before, scoring 76 goals and providing 18 assists in 133 matches across all competitions. He was essential to Napoli’s Serie A victory in the 2022/23 season. This win marked their first Italian league title in 33 years.
His past in Italian football might make him a good fit for Juventus. He is already familiar with Luciano Spalletti, who was his coach at Napoli. Osimhen has kept his form strong at Galatasaray this season, scoring nine goals and assisting three times in nine matches.
But a return to Italy might not be simple. There is a reported clause in the deal that took him from Napoli to Galatasaray. This clause means Galatasaray must pay Napoli a penalty if they sell Osimhen to a Serie A team before the summer transfer window closes in 2027. This could raise the cost for Juventus if they want to sign him.
