A video that has gone viral on Instagram, shared by #k1deultimatedigitalmedia on Friday, shows Obasanjo walking onto the stage while K1 was performing.
As the former president got closer, K1 suddenly stopped his performance. He went down fully to the floor and prostrated in the Yoruba way of greeting elders, right there on stage.
Obasanjo walked to him, gave him a pat on the back, and later took the microphone to address the audience and greet the king who was celebrating his birthday.
The event happened on Thursday during the royal celebration for the Olota of Ota.
The video, which also shows Obasanjo speaking on stage amidst the music setup, quickly spread online. It caught people's attention for showing cultural respect between the former president and the Fuji star.
