The Kano State House of Assembly is set to screen two new commissioner-nominees on Tuesday. These nominees were sent by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for approval as part of the State Executive Council.
The nominees will meet with the lawmakers at 10am on Tuesday. This was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Assembly, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, in a statement released on Monday.
"The House of Assembly will on Tuesday, as scheduled, screen the two commissioner-nominees submitted by the governor for confirmation," the statement said.
Shawai also mentioned that the House received a letter from the governor asking for the screening and confirmation of the two nominees.
"The screening will be conducted strictly in line with the Constitution under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore," he added.
"This process is an important constitutional duty of the Assembly to ensure that only qualified and capable individuals join the State Executive Council," the statement further said.
