Man admits to stealing N1.4m from sick mother for betting

A young man in Nigeria has confessed to taking N1.4m from his sick mother’s bank account to fund his gambling habit.

The man did not share his name but posted on social media about his actions. He explained how he took money from his mother’s account multiple times before losing it all to betting.

He shared that on September 13, he first withdrew N100,000 and transferred it to his betting account. He then took out another N200,000 on the same day and added it to his betting account.

He went on to withdraw more money in the following transactions until he had taken N1.4m from his mother’s account. Sadly, he lost all of it while gambling.

He said, “On September 13, I withdrew N100,000 from my sick mother’s account and put it into my betting account. On the same day, I withdrew N200,000 and put it into my betting account. I withdrew another N300,000 on the same day. I continued withdrawing until it added up to N1.4m, which I used to gamble. But the money was gone.”
