The Ondo State Police have arrested a 38-year-old man, Nsikak Kingsley, for allegedly beating his father, Adone Peter, to death in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area of the state.
This information came from a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, on Thursday.
Jimoh said the suspect acted violently after an argument with his father that led to a physical fight.
The statement said, “The Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, has arrested a 38-year-old man, identified as Nsikak Kingsley for his alleged involvement in the death of his biological father, Adone Peter, aged 65 years.
“The tragic incident happened in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State and has raised serious concern among residents.
“Preliminary investigation showed that on 28th May, 2026, the suspect got into a violent argument with his father that turned into a physical fight. During this altercation, the father suffered severe injuries, especially to his head. He was quickly taken to a hospital for urgent care.
“Sadly, despite the efforts of the medical team, the doctor confirmed him dead while receiving treatment.”
Jimoh also mentioned that the police managed to arrest the suspect after his brother reported the incident at a local police station. The police then moved quickly to take action.
