Meridianbet is now the official sports betting sponsor for UFC Fight Night Belgrade. This gives them exclusive betting rights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s first event in Serbia.

On Thursday, the company announced that the event will take place on August 1 at the Belgrade Arena. This is the UFC’s first time in Serbia and it is a big step for Meridianbet, which started in Serbia.

As part of the deal, Meridianbet will get major branding throughout the event. This includes visibility inside the UFC Octagon, placement on official event materials like fight posters and round cards, in-arena advertising, and promotional campaigns on UFC’s digital and social media.

The fight night will be shown live in the United States on Paramount+ and shared internationally through UFC’s broadcast network. This means Meridianbet will reach millions of viewers around the world.

This sponsorship is part of Meridianbet’s plan to grow its presence in global sports. The company, which began in Serbia in 2001, now works in over 25 regulated markets in Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

“Serbia is where Meridianbet’s story began 25 years ago. There is no bigger stage to celebrate that journey than UFC’s first-ever event in the country,” said William Scott, the Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Holdings Inc.

“Combat sports have always been a key part of our sponsorship strategy. Partnering with one of the world’s biggest sports organizations shows our commitment to building a brand known worldwide for entertainment.”

Meridianbet also mentioned that this partnership highlights its goals in Nigeria. The company wants to connect local fans with major international sporting events beyond just football.

Lolu Desalu, the Managing Director of Meridianbet Nigeria, said this agreement shows the company's growing international reach and strengthens its attraction to Nigerian sports fans.

“This partnership with UFC is a proud moment for the Meridianbet family globally. It resonates strongly with our Nigerian audience,” Desalu said.

“Nigerians are passionate about combat sports, from boxing to mixed martial arts. This collaboration boosts Meridianbet’s position as a brand that connects fans with the biggest moments in global sports.”

Margaret Otaru, the Marketing Manager of Meridianbet Nigeria, expressed that this partnership fits well with the company’s strategy to link sports, entertainment, and culture.

“Partnering with a global property like UFC enhances our storytelling and gives our users another reason to connect with the brand beyond football,” she said.

The company stated that the UFC deal adds to its list of international sports partnerships. This shows their ongoing investment in top sporting events to engage fans across different sports.
