Former Nigerian squash No. 1 Moses Olubo is back in Nigeria today after an amazing trip across continents on a Can-Am Spyder motorcycle.
Olubo’s incredible journey took him from the United States through Canada, Iceland, Scandinavia, and Western Europe. He crossed the Sahara and tackled the tough Fouta Jallon Highlands to reach Nigeria.
He is set to receive a warm welcome from friends, sports fans, and supporters at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. A meet-and-greet is planned for 2 PM today.
Organisers have called Olubo a “3-Continent Adventurer” to highlight the scale of his trip and the determination it took to finish this tough motorcycle ride.
His arrival time has been hard to predict due to some issues he faced while riding through Ghana. His motorcycle is not registered under the ECOWAS system, which added to the delays.
As of Tuesday, Olubo was reported to be finishing up his exit from Ghana. The last part of his journey to Lagos should be easier.
This adventure has excited his friends and fans. They are encouraging Nigerians, especially those in sports, to come out to the National Stadium and give Olubo a great welcome.
The meet-and-greet will let sports lovers reconnect with Olubo and celebrate his adventurous trip that mixed sport, endurance, and exploration across three continents.
