Paris Saint-Germain's first Ligue 1 match of the season has been moved from their home ground. The match against Rennes was supposed to happen at Parc des Princes on August 23, 2026. Now, it will take place at Roazhon Park because the pitch in Paris is not in good shape, the French league (LFP) announced on August 19, 2026.

The LFP said, "The current state of the pitch does not allow for player safety to be guaranteed."

PSG was set to host Rennes on Sunday. But the date and time for the match will stay the same.

Because of this change, PSG will now face Rennes on the weekend of March 6.

In another update, PSG left-back Nuno Mendes has received a three-match suspension. This follows his red card during the Champions’ Trophy loss to Lens over the weekend.

Mendes was sent off in the 87th minute for elbowing Michal Skoras, a player from Lens. As a result, he will also miss PSG's Ligue 1 games against Lille and Monaco.

Coach Luis Enrique might bring in Lucas Digne to fill in for Mendes. Digne recently joined the team from Aston Villa.
