The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared N2.257 trillion among the federal government, state governments, and local government councils for April 2026.
Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation (OAGF), announced this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
Mr Mokwa mentioned that the revenue was shared during the FAAC meeting held in Abuja in May 2026.
He explained that the N2.257 trillion total distributable revenue included N1.260 trillion in distributable statutory revenue, N747.088 billion in distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, and N250 billion in Augmentation.
In the statement, Mr Mokwa noted that the total gross revenue available in April 2026 was N3.184 trillion.
“A total deduction for cost of collection was N113.756 billion, while total transfers, refunds, and savings were N813.839 billion.
“Gross statutory revenue of N2.378 trillion was received for April 2026. This amount was N678.224 billion higher than the N1.699 trillion received in the previous month.
“Gross revenue from VAT in April 2026 was N806.617 billion, which is N142.192 billion more than the N664.425 billion available in March 2026,” Mr Mokwa quoted from the communiqué.
He further quoted the communiqué: “From the N2.257 trillion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government got N787.351 billion, while the State Governments received N772.360 billion.
“The Local Government Councils received N540.152 billion. Additionally, N157.254 billion (13 percent of mineral revenue) was shared with the benefiting States as derivation revenue.
“Out of the N1.260 trillion distributable statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N580.942 billion, and State Governments got N294.661 billion.
“The Local Government Councils received N227.172 billion, and the sum of N157.254 billion (13 percent of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting States as derivation revenue.
“From the N747.088 billion distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, the Federal Government got N74.709 billion, the State Governments received N410.898 billion, and the Local Government Councils got N261.481 billion.
“The Federal Government received N131.700 billion from the N250 billion, States received N66.800 billion, and Local Governments got N51.500 billion.
Mr Mokwa also pointed out that in April 2026, Companies Income Tax (CIT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Stamp Duty Tax (SDT), Import Duty, Oil and Gas Royalty, and Value Added Tax (VTA) saw significant increases, while Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) and Hydrocarbon Tax (HT) went down considerably.
He added that Excise Duty and CET Levies saw a slight decrease.
