Nasarawa United coach, Mbwas Mangut, is worried about the team's poor start in the Nigeria Premier Football League. This came after a 2-1 loss to Kwara United in Ilorin on Wednesday.
With this defeat, the Solid Miners have only four points from five matches. They have lost three out of their first five games.
Kwara United scored first through Sanni Muhammed. Nasarawa United quickly equalized with a goal from Jofrank Istifanus.
But the visitors could not hold on for a draw. Abdulsalam Abdulsalam scored in the second half and secured all three points for Kwara United.
Mangut said the team's place on the league table is concerning. Still, he believes there are some positives to take from the match.
"If you look at the log, it’s really something to get worried about. Five games, amounting to 15 points, and we have four points from those," Mangut said.
He continued, "However, we have some positives and some negatives to take from the game. Both sides yearned for the result. We had a great game in the first half, conceded an early goal, but we recovered almost immediately."
The coach emphasized that the team must find a quick solution to their poor performance. He wants them to stop focusing on their challenges.
"We will move on from this phase and stabilise the team going forward. Losing points in every effort put in isn’t the best, but we will work towards it," he added.
Nasarawa United is now looking ahead to their next league match. They aim to turn around their tough start to the season.
