Galatasaray has announced that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has a left knee injury and will have surgery. This means he won't play in tomorrow's match against Amed S.F.

The Turkish champions shared this news on their X account on Friday. They said Osimhen got injured during their recent UEFA Champions League game against VfB Stuttgart.

The club explained that Osimhen has a strain in his left knee. An MRI showed a loose body in the knee joint, which means he needs surgery.

Galatasaray confirmed that Osimhen will have arthroscopic knee surgery tomorrow at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital.

The operation will be done by the club's doctor, Yener İnce.

Because of this injury, the Nigerian international will miss the game against Amed S.F. as he starts his treatment and recovery.

"In the UEFA Champions League match we played against VfB Stuttgart, our player Victor Osimhen sustained a strain in his left knee, and MRI examinations detected a loose body. An arthroscopic knee surgery will be performed tomorrow at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital by our club doctor Yener İnce.

"For this reason, our player has been removed from the squad for tomorrow’s match against Amed S.F.," the post said.

The club is expected to give more updates on his condition and when he might return to play after the surgery.

Osimhen’s absence will be a blow for Galatasaray as they continue their campaigns in both domestic and European competitions. The club will keep an eye on his recovery as he aims to return to competitive football.
