Fashion entrepreneur and content creator, Toheeb Opeyemi, says he does not see himself as having “arrived” yet. He built a fashion business from the ground up at just 27 years old.
Opeyemi is the founder of OTP Label. He shared that his business journey has gone through various stages. He started as a tailor, then moved into retail, and later grew into wholesale.
When asked about his view on success, Opeyemi said it is more than just making money. He finds pride in creating something with the limited resources he had.
He said, “Success to me now is bigger than just having money. Of course, I want my business to continue growing, but success is also being able to look back and see that I created something from what I had.”
The entrepreneur lost both parents at different times in his life. He reflected on the moments when he could have stopped striving for more. His wish for self-improvement kept him pushing forward.
He advised his younger self to keep going, no matter the challenges, mistakes, or slow progress. He believes persistence is key.
Opeyemi mentioned that while he is proud of what he has accomplished, he still sees himself as a work in progress. “Even at 27, I don’t feel like I have arrived yet. I’m proud of how far I have come, but I still have much bigger things I want to achieve,” he said.
