Oyo APC Governorship Candidate Sure of Winning in 2027

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, believes the party is ready to win all major elections in the state during the 2027 general elections.

He said this at the launch of Local Government Campaign Managers for the BSA/Adedeji team at the APC Campaign Office in Dandaru, Mokola, Ibadan North Local Government Area on Monday.

Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, stated the party aims to win the presidential, National Assembly, governorship, and House of Assembly elections in Oyo.

He urged party leaders and supporters to enhance grassroots mobilization as the 2027 elections approach.

Alli said the newly appointed campaign managers have an important job in turning the party’s political plans into effective grassroots mobilization throughout the state.

He encouraged them to strengthen the party’s presence in their local areas, wards, and communities by reaching out to party members, supporters, and other stakeholders.

Alli said, “We are strategically positioned to win the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and House of Assembly elections in Oyo in 2027.

“But victory requires hard work at the grassroots. We must go to the people, engage them and strengthen our structures across the state.

“Our Local Government Campaign Managers have a major responsibility to ensure that the APC is firmly rooted in every local government, ward and community.”

He also told them to see their roles as a call to service, highlighting that regular engagement with the grassroots will be key to the party’s campaign strategy.

Alli called for unity and teamwork among APC leaders and members. He said the party's goals can only be met through effective coordination and joint effort.

He mentioned, “This is not about individuals. It is about the party and our collective responsibility to build a stronger APC in Oyo.”

The Oyo APC candidate advised the managers to stay focused and dedicated to their tasks, making sure the party's message and programs reach the grassroots.

Earlier, the campaign Director-General, Prince Yemi Aderibigbe, said the launch marked another step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections.

He expressed confidence in the party’s ability to organize and urged members to work together to strengthen its structures ahead of the elections.

PUNCH Online reports that in July 2026, Alli approved key appointments in his campaign team to boost preparations for the 2027 gubernatorial election.

These appointments came after Yemi Aderibigbe was named the Director-General of the Campaign Organisation, showing the candidate’s commitment to a team-focused and results-driven campaign.

In a statement from Ibadan, Alli said, “Under the new arrangement, Hon Sola Ogunbode was appointed Deputy Director-General to assist the Director-General in managing campaign activities across the state.

Also appointed as Assistant Directors-General are Barrister Lowo Obisesan for Oyo South, Rt Hon Asimiyu Alarape for Oyo Central, and Hon Rasaq Raji for Oyo North Senatorial District.

“The appointments are expected to deepen grassroots mobilization, enhance coordination across the three senatorial districts, and boost campaign readiness for the 2027 governorship election in the state,” he added.
