The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State gathered on Thursday to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. They also backed the APC governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, and other party candidates for the 2027 elections. During the event, they distributed tilling machines and generators to young people.

Sunday Dare, who is the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, organized the rally at Oba Ghandi Civic Centre Square, Starlight Area, in Ogbomoso. He said that Tinubu has made a significant impact across Nigeria since he took office in 2023.

Dare stated, “This mega campaign rally, tagged ‘Tinubu Lekansi’ (Tinubu Once Again), is organised to allow Mr President to finish his good work.” He emphasized that Tinubu’s achievements are clear in Ogbomoso. He mentioned the Ogbomoso, Oyo section of the Ibadan, Ilorin dual carriageway, which started in the early 2000s and is now almost finished. He credited President Tinubu for this progress.

“Also, recently, about five roads either within Ogbomoso metropolis or linked to Ogbomoso were awarded. And contractors have been moving to the site to begin the project. Ogbomoso will vote for the President once again. We stand with his Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.

Dare encouraged voters in Oyo State to choose Tinubu, the APC governorship candidate Alli, and all APC candidates in 2027. He also urged eligible voters to get their Permanent Voter Cards and show up in large numbers for the election. He said, “The student loan scheme introduced by the Federal Government and the increase in the monthly allowance of National Youth Service Corps members are parts of Tinubu’s administration’s initiatives.”

A three-term member of the House of Representatives, Segun Odebunmi, who is the APC candidate for the same legislative seat in 2027, also spoke. Along with Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, the party’s candidate for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency, Senator Brimmo Yusuf, former Speaker of the state House of Assembly Olagunju Ojo, and former state Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan, they urged voters to support the APC.

As part of the event, the organizers distributed food items like rice, beans, semovita, garri, tilling machines, generators, and others to the youths. The program also included the opening of new classrooms at Ikoyi Grammar School and Lasubu-Alada Community Grammar School in Ogbomoso.
