Three suspected cultists were arrested by the Lagos State Police Command in Imota. This happened during an operation based on reliable information. The police also seized firearms, ammunition, and other weapons from the suspects.

The police said the operation came after they received credible tips from the public about suspected cultist activities in Imota. They acted quickly on this information.
The police stated, “Acting on the credible intelligence, operatives of the command stormed the location and arrested Jelili Adeyemo, 37 years old, alleged to be the armourer of the group, Bisoye Adewale, 42 years old, and John Okeafo, 60 years old.”
During the operation, officers recovered “one Beretta pistol, one locally made pistol, seven Dane guns, 10 live cartridges, seven expended cartridges, one stun gun, two handcuffs, four cutlasses, and other exhibits.”
The police also mentioned, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of the Aiye Confraternity. The recovered Beretta pistol allegedly belongs to a notorious cultist known as ‘Mayibone,’ who is currently at large.”
The suspects have been taken to court and remanded in custody. The police added, “Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing gang members and recover additional weapons.”
The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Tijani Fatai, confirmed that the command is dedicated to fighting cultism and other violent crimes in the state. He urged residents to keep helping the police by providing useful information.
Fatai said, “Residents should continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information to aid ongoing crime-fighting efforts.”
