After receiving reports about the shootings, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, ordered the Violent Crime Response Unit, Department of Operations, and Intelligence Units to carry out a detailed investigation aimed at catching and prosecuting those behind the attacks.
The spokesperson also reassured residents that steps have been taken to restore calm, saying that normal life has returned to the affected areas.
"Measures have also been put in place to prevent a recurrence, while security has been reinforced in the affected locations.
"An intensive, intelligence-led operation is ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and their sponsors, regardless of their social or political status," he said.
Ojelabi mentioned that the police have taken the injured people to hospitals for treatment.
He urged residents to stay calm, alert, and follow the law. He also asked anyone with helpful information to report to the nearest police station or the command.
He promised that all information shared would be kept confidential.
"Individuals and groups are warned against taking the law into their hands or engaging in acts capable of threatening the peace and security of the state," he added.
