Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested six kidnappers around Soktu Hill in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The Army also reported receiving a surrendered Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist in Borgozo, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for the North-East Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, shared this in a statement on Monday.

Goni said the six kidnappers were caught after receiving reliable information about their activities.

The statement said, "Following credible human intelligence on the activities of a suspected kidnapping syndicate operating around Soktu Hill in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State, troops of Sector 4 OPHK, along with local hunters, quickly moved in and raided the hideout."

This operation resulted in the arrest of three members of the syndicate and the recovery of one Dane gun.

Goni added, "Further investigation and later covert operations led to the arrest of three more members of the syndicate, bringing the total number of suspects arrested to six."

He said preliminary investigations showed that the syndicate had been active in the Soktu, Dumne, and Maigero areas of Song LGA.

The suspects reportedly confessed to kidnapping several victims for ransom and committing other violent crimes in the area.

“They remain in military custody for further investigation and legal action,” he stated.

In another development, Goni mentioned that on September 13, 2026, troops from the 29 Task Force Brigade, operating under Sector 2 OPHK, along with Forest Guards, received a surrendered Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist at Borgozo in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

"Preliminary investigation revealed that the terrorist escaped from a terrorist enclave intending to abandon terrorism," he said.

The Army spokesman reported that items recovered from him included one AK-47 rifle, 14 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, four magazines, one improvised explosive device, one magazine pouch, and a bicycle.

“The surrendered terrorist is currently in military custody undergoing further investigation and profiling according to standard procedures,” he stated.

Goni emphasized that these successes show the ongoing pressure from troops of Operation Hadin Kai against terrorists and other criminals in the Joint Operations Area.

“The Theatre Command is committed to continuing offensive operations, denying terrorists and other criminals freedom of action, creating a safer environment for law-abiding citizens, and allowing socioeconomic activities to grow,” he assured.
