Portable wants DNA test before supporting Ashabi’s children

Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has asked for DNA tests for his two children with actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, also called Ashabi Simple, before he takes care of them.

Portable made this request in an Instagram Story on Friday. He said he needed the tests because he does not trust their mother. “Now I need DNA test asap so I can take care of those kids because I do not trust their mother. I cannot take care of another man child,” he wrote.

His demand comes amid a disagreement with Ashabi over the care and financial support for their children. In a voice note that went viral, Portable also questioned whether he is the father of the children. He wants them to go to a hospital for DNA testing before he offers any more financial help.

He raised concerns about Ashabi's whereabouts during their relationship. He claimed that she would sometimes be away for days because of acting jobs. Portable said just because the kids look like him does not mean he is their biological father. “Forget that the babies look like me, we were living together so the babies can look like me due to that,” he stated in the recording.

Portable's request followed Ashabi's claim that he has not provided enough financial support for their children. She even threatened to involve the police over the situation. On her Instagram, Ashabi shared screenshots claiming that from January to September, Portable had sent only N200,000 for the care of their two kids.

She also said she had paid their school fees for three terms and has been feeding and clothing them alone. “I sha don give you enough time to be responsible. January to September u gave 2 kids 200k. Have paid for 3 term school fees for them each. Have been feeding them all alone and clothing them,” she wrote.

Ashabi said she reached out to Portable because she wanted him to help with their children's needs. She mentioned that she would stop contacting him repeatedly about their care but expected him to be more responsible.

In another screenshot of their chat, Portable reportedly told Ashabi to either care for the kids herself or give them to him. “Give me those kids or take care of them yourself,” he said.

Ashabi accused Portable of not being responsible for their children. “Online warrior, your fans will push you to canal. I do not really care about you but that you won’t be accountable and responsible for your children welfare, I am not just ready for you because I respect your people that was why I chatted you,” she wrote.

She also reacted to an accusation involving charms, saying, “Why would I use charm on a finished man, I do not have the time.” Portable, on his part, rejected Ashabi's suggestion to set aside their differences for their children. He said, “You are my enemy for life.”

He also made comments about Ashabi's health and personal life in the voice note, including remarks about her alleged fibroids. This dispute has played out publicly on social media, with both of them sharing messages and accusations about their relationship and their children's welfare.
