PSG's Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was injured during the UEFA Champions League match against FC Barcelona at Parc des Princes in Paris on October 20, 2026. He needed medical assistance after the injury.
Paris Saint-Germain might be without their star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the entire season. He suffered a torn ACL during their Champions League victory against Barcelona. Ousmane Dembele also faces several weeks on the sidelines, according to the club's announcement on Wednesday.
PSG said Kvaratskhelia is scheduled to have surgery soon. He got injured during the 4-2 win against Barcelona on Tuesday.
Kvaratskhelia fell to the ground without any contact and had to leave the pitch just before the hour mark. The club has not provided a timeline for his return. Recovery from ACL surgery usually takes between six and nine months. This means the Georgian player may only return for the last part of the season.
“Why me? I’ve never left anything to chance. I’d probably prepared for this match better than I ever have before. I thought I was ready for anything, but not for this,” Kvaratskhelia shared on Instagram in Georgian.
The 25-year-old also mentioned that he was “ready to spend these next months in work, pain and tears.”
Kvaratskhelia, previously with Napoli, has become one of Europe’s most exciting attackers. He played a key role in helping PSG win two Champions League titles in the past two seasons.
