Shareholders of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, a top maker of personal healthcare products and consumer goods, have agreed to a final dividend payout of N9.926 billion for the 2026 financial year.
This decision was made at the company’s 78th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Fraiser Suites in Abuja on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.
During the meeting, the Chair of the company’s Board of Directors, Mrs Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, said each shareholder will get a final dividend of N2.50k for each ordinary share of 50k.
Mrs Omoigui Okauru also said the board has approved a Scrip Dividend Scheme. This means qualifying shareholders can choose to receive new ordinary shares instead of all or part of their cash dividend. She added that the company has shown strong resilience and improvement in its operations, thanks to a restructured balance sheet.
"Our performance is improving year-on-year, and we will continue to use our strategic operating model and a more stable economy to drive growth and create value for all stakeholders."
Shareholders at the AGM praised the board and management for approving the dividend despite the tough business conditions in Nigeria.
One shareholder, Chief Peter Essien, who is the Chairman of Viewpoint Shareholders Association in Uyo, praised the company’s leadership for managing the business well. He noted the improved profits and revenue recorded in the 2026 financial year.
"Special kudos to the board and management of the company for the outstanding performance recorded for the financial year ended May 31, 2026. I am happy and satisfied with the growth witnessed over the last few years," Essien said.
Hon Pat Ajudua, the Chairman of New Dimension Shareholders Association, also praised the company’s management for being financially wise and reducing its debt. He mentioned that this has helped the company move from a negative equity position of -N17.3 billion to +N66.6 billion.
Regarding the Scrip Dividend, shareholders voted to extend the election deadline from 23rd November 2026 to 4th November 2026. It was also approved that the final dividend of N2.50k will be paid on 6th November 2026.
The Board Chair stated that the company is focused on growth and creating value for stakeholders, especially after finishing the Strategic Review of its African businesses and the decision by the parent company to keep its Nigerian operation as part of the wider Group.
