Cristiano Ronaldo has reached out to Paris Saint-Germain player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Ronaldo, who has been Kvaratskhelia’s idol since childhood, urged the 25-year-old to keep his confidence up as he faces a tough recovery ahead.
Fabrizio Romano shared the news on X on Wednesday. Ronaldo said, “The hardest battles in football are often ones nobody sees.
“I know that feeling, Kvara. But never forget what brought you this far, and don’t let a difficult moment make you doubt how far you can go.
“Keep that fire on. Your best is still to come,” the Portuguese forward added.
Kvaratskhelia hurt his ACL in his right knee during Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona. The French club confirmed that he will have surgery soon.
This injury is a big blow for Kvaratskhelia, who was doing really well before he had to leave the game.
After he found out about the injury, Kvaratskhelia shared his sadness. He said he was having a hard time accepting what happened, even though he had prepared well for the match.
“Why me? I was not ready for this,” he said in a heartfelt statement.
Despite this, the Georgian international promised to work hard during his recovery. He wants to come back stronger for his fans who have been cheering him on.
“I know I have to come back stronger for my people who always support me. I won’t let you down; I promise I won’t waste a second. Thank you all for your support, see you soon,” he added.
Ronaldo’s message means a lot to Kvaratskhelia. He has looked up to Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, for many years.
Ronaldo’s words offer hope to the PSG winger as he starts his recovery journey. Kvaratskhelia is determined to get back on the field after this setback.
