Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, who represents Ondo Central Senatorial District in Ondo State, has urged Nigerians to vote for President Bola Tinubu for a second term. He also asked them to back other candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election.
Adegbonmire, the APC candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District, believes that the Tinubu administration deserves another term to build on its ongoing projects that focus on the people. He made these remarks while speaking on Adaba FM in Akure on Thursday. The senator mentioned that the President is working hard to ease the challenges facing Nigerians and improve the country.
He said the reforms from the Tinubu administration should be seen as steps toward lasting solutions, not just quick fixes. He stated, “I want to call on Nigerians, particularly the people of Ondo Central, to support President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates across all levels in the 2027 elections.
“The Renewed Hope administration needs continuity to consolidate the reforms and projects already underway. Things are being done in phases, but the President is building systems and institutions that will endure. For that reason, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves commendation for his courage and commitment.”
Adegbonmire pointed out the significant investments made by the Tinubu administration in infrastructure and economic growth. These include the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, improved rail infrastructure, airport investments for safety, and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which helps students in tertiary institutions.
He praised the administration for working to stabilize foreign exchange rates. He mentioned that a more predictable exchange rate will help manufacturers and importers plan better for the future. The senator also noted that Nigeria's foreign exchange reserves have grown to over $50 billion. He argued that “stronger reserves can help improve investors’ confidence and strengthen the country’s ability to withstand external economic pressures.”
Talking about his achievements in his first three years in the 10th National Assembly, Adegbonmire focused on education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth development, and human capital development. As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, he has played an essential role in justice, human rights, and the rule of law issues.
He has sponsored bills that he believes will bring long-term benefits to his constituents and help with national development. He also facilitated educational projects worth over N800 million at Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure. The senator listed the building of modern classrooms at St Helens Unity Secondary School in Ondo and Owobamibo in Idanre Local Government Area, along with the renovation of classrooms at St Thomas and St Andrew Primary School in Akure South Local Government Area, among other accomplishments.
