This loss is Valencia's fourth in five games this season. Last weekend, they faced a heavy 5-0 defeat against Barcelona. During that match, Barcelona's Rodri was caught on camera calling Valencia "very weak."
Rodri faced criticism in the Spanish media for his comments. Broadcaster Movistar even used a lip-reader to confirm what he said to his teammates Pau Cubarsi and Raphinha.
Valencia has not won a La Liga title in over 20 years. They also reached the Champions League finals twice in a row back then. Since those glory days, the team's performance has dropped.
They have not qualified for Europe in seven years. Valencia's struggles continue to be a tough pill to swallow for their fans.
